San Jose Mission in San Atonio, Texas
The mission was founded in 1720 with the buildings made from brush, straw and mud. The church was contructed in 1768 from locally sourced limestone. In 1794, the mission lands were given to its Indians and by 1824 the missions activities had ended and the the building were inhabitted by soldiers, the homeless and bandits. Restoration of the site began in 1933.
